Can't "send to trash" on AFP volume
Reported by Avi Drissman | August 4th, 2011 @ 04:40 AM
Repro:
- find duplicates within a folder on an AFP volume. - mark a
duplicate - select "Send Marked to Trash"
Get error:
"Directory not found"
True enough, there is no "trash" directory on an AFP volume to send it to. If you "move to trash" in the Finder a file that's on AFP, when it can't find the trash directory it warns you and then just deletes the file. You should probably do the same.

I'm reluctant to fallback to direct deletion for the "Send to Trash" action. I fear that it would result, in some cases, in accidental deletions.
I prefer to instruct the users use the "move to temp folder then delete that folder manually" workaround.

I didn't remember this ticket, but recent dupeGuru versions have a "direct deletion" option, thus working around this problem.
