Segmentation fault while scanning folders in Ubuntu with dupeguru PE
Reported by Joe Irvine | February 3rd, 2012 @ 01:31 AM
When scanning folders, some folders it completes with no dupes found. Others it scans a bit and crashes with a "Segmentation Fault" error message, nothing more. I also got this message once:
[51:93:100646995188:ERROR:platform_thread_posix.cc(253)] Not implemented reached in static void base::PlatformThread::SetThreadPriority(base::PlatformThreadHandle, base::ThreadPriority) Segmentation fault
If I restart the app and choose the same folder again it picks up where it left off.

It might be a picture that dupeGuru PE has problems with. A couple of things to try:
- Do you get the same crashes when you scan in "EXIF Timestamps"
mode?
- The folders for which you get no crash, but no dupes: Do you
have known dupes in them? If you create d duplicate (by copy
pasting an image in the folder), do you still get no
dupes?
- For folders that cause a crash, you can enable the debug mode in the prefs (restart required) and try again. The debug log (which you can open through the help menu) will show more info.
