Option to hide accounts

Reported by Virgil Dupras | April 28th, 2010 @ 01:29 PM

From e-mail:

How to hide a closed account? I know I can hide its data/values by clicking the small icon close to the arrow icon in the Net Worth view but that means the name of the account is still there just greyed out. How can I hide the complete account without deleting the account/data?

Then me:

What I do for my own file is that I have an "archive" group in both assets and liabilities. When I close an account, I simply move it
there and always keep the group closed. I find it adequate for my
needs, but don't hesitate to let me know if you think otherwise.

Then again:

Your approch isn’t bad but still I would like to be able to "clear" my view completely from archived accounts. Why not go a step further and allow to hide the archive group or even archived accounts itself? I use an application called The Hit List (a to-do manager) and this app offers a "Show/Hide archived task" setting. That should be something not to complex, so that you would keep it simple and clean.

Personally, I'm not too inclined to add more complexity for this, so I'm putting this ticket on hold.
